Kia ora everyone,

We are a year 8 extension class at Rotorua Intermediate. Our school has over 700 students and there is currently a lot of construction going on around the school to renovate classrooms. We have two teachers in our class - Whaea Kirsten on Monday - Wednesday and Whaea Jayne on Thursday - Friday.

We love going on field trips, especially after such a long time of not being able to due to covid. Last term we were lucky enough to go zip-lining and plant native trees to help a local company with their restoration mission. This term we're getting ready for school camp and hoping to do a couple of other field trips along the way.

This is our first time taking part in NZ Read Aloud and we're really looking forward to something a bit different as well as sharing and learning with you all.

  1. Kia ora Whaea Jayne and Whaea Kirsten and all the kids in your class. My name is Kerri and I am the organiser of #NZreadaloud. Thank you for introducing yourselves to everyone. With only one day left this week, I am hoping the other classes get in and do the same. This was a 'must do' for teachers!

You have a lot of students at your school! It would be cool to get some kōrero going about how your kids find that and look at the pros and cons from a student perspective.

It is fantastic to have a class from Rotorua Intermediate involved in #NZreadaloud - I think it is the first time. Keep an eye on the posts and use it as part of your literacy.

    Ngā mihi maioha
    Kerri
