Room 8 Westshore School

Kia ora

Westshore is a beautiful place to spend our days learning together opposite the beach.  You can just imagine how cool it is when we see ships on the horizon.

We are a Year 5/6 composite group of learners. This is our first time participating in #NZReadaloud as a class whanau and we are looking forward to connecting and sharing our ideas with everyone.

Something you should know about us is that we enjoy working as a team trying out new things.

  1. Kia ora, Westshore whanau, it is fantastic to have you involved in the #NZReadaloud journey this term. Room 13 from Tamatea Intermediate really enjoyed connecting with you last week. It was great to hear your thoughts about the story so far and what you have been inquiring into. We are super excited to see some pictures of the learning you have been doing. We found it interesting that your class explored the way music and television has changed over the last 50 years because we did the same. What is your favourite song from the text and why? Lucian

  2. Kia ora Room 8 at Westshore School. My name is Kerri and I organise the #NZreadaloud.

It is fantastic to have you participating in #NZraDawnRaid. How lucky you are to have Mrs Bannister get your class involved and connecting with other students around Aotearoa.

I use to live in Westshore (across the road from the airport). It used to be called Main Road but is now Pukeko Place. I didn't attend Westshore School but my younger sister did! She loved it. We all loved living with the beach close by.

I hope you enjoyed the hot-seating Zoom with the other classes and the author Pauline today. It sounded like it was fun.
